I know it is the middle of January, but I'm just trying to catch up. Bear with me...
December was a busy month. It started with Phil going out of town for a week. When we picked him up from the airport we drove by Opryland Hotel to see the Christmas lights. Here are the kids in front of a cool wall mural and the girls in front of the huge Christmas tree. Sadly, the dancing fountains were covered over for some Shrek stage performance.
The girls and I were able to go to a performance by the Nashville Ballet of the Nutcracker. They do an amazing job. The costumes and set are amazing. The girls were entranced by the dancing. Clara was so excited for Clara in the ballet and has declared that she will be a ballerina some day and get to be Clara.
We postponed our gingerbread house making until Phil was back in town and we kept it a little low key by just inviting our neighbors. It was a lot of fun and a great way to get to know them better.
They had an impressive wrap around porch, but it collapsed by the time we took a picture.
Ethan earned his Webelo's award in Cub Scouts as well as his Arrow of Light.
Ethan also turned 11. I can't believe how fast these kiddos are growing up! I surprised him with an Angry Birds cake. He was impressed.
Christmas time brought the Raffs to our house. While our house is just the right size for our family, we don't have any extra room as in a guest bedroom or even some kind of bonus room, so we had a comfortably cozy Christmas. Good thing we like the Raffs so much and that everyone gets along. The boys got to sleep in a tent in the garage and luckily it was on the warm side this year. We had a lot of fun with them here, but I didn't take very many pictures. Here's one of us trying to make taffy. It didn't work because I don't think I cooked it long enough. It tasted yummy though.
