Under the Sea

With a visitor in town, we finally went to the GA Aquarium. That is a place I could spend all day and let me just say that I am tempted to do one of their sleepover nights...for me, not the kids. There is just something about watching things swim around that is so relaxing. They did a good job of showing all of the habitats and since they have the worlds largest aquarium tank we got to see not one, but two whale sharks as well as a lot of other neat things.
One of Sophia's favorite things was the petting area, where you could pet the manta rays and bone sharks. Pretty rubbery.

Clara really just walked around wide eyed and enjoyed it all, but she really liked this star fish since it was her favorite color (notice the eel right next to it).

Jakob's favorite was probably getting up close and personal with his favorite animal.

Ethan loved it all too, but he liked the otters. He told me this one's name is Oz.

Here's a picture that Ethan took of a hammer head shark. He actually had a lot of good pictures, but man do I love digital in that I could delete all of the blurry ones that came with the good.

Touring the Temple

The Atlanta Temple Open House has kind of taken over our lives, but not nearly as much as for some people in the ward. It's just funny how one more thing added to the schedule makes life a little crazy. Last Tuesday was our stakes day to 'man' the open house so to say. I watched kids in the morning so that some friends could go be tour guides and then they watched my kids in the afternoon so I could go and do it (Phil had a big conference that week and couldn't get out of it). And get this, my partner (tour guides go in groups of two, one to do the talking and one to bring up the rear) was the reigning Mrs. Georgia. She's actually in our ward and is really nice, she was just a little better at the whole presentation thing. I was really good at bringing up the rear and talking to the people that hung out in the back, which were usually the non members. Other than that day, Jakob has had a lot of practices for the youth celebration, I made the vests for the young men in the ward for their costumes and I took each kid on a date to the temple, with just me. Tonight we went as a family for Family Home Evening. It was fun to have us all together. These pictures are from tonight.

These last two pictures are not that great if you want to see who is in them, but I thought it was neat how the sun was right behind the spire.
