What we have been up to

Sophia turned 6 yesterday!!! Poor girl, almost all of her birthdays have coincided with being away from home vacationing or moving, including the day she was born. She's handled it well. She said yesterday was the best quiet birthday she's had. I'm glad she is easily impressed.

Here's the cake she helped design. She drew it out on paper for me.
I'm not sure if she is excited to see her present or what, but I love the expression on her face.

She got a hula hoop and

a globe, which she specifically asked for. I love my kids (not just for the fact that they love maps as much as I do, but I do really love that about them too.).

We also made it to the Dunwoody 4th of July parade. The kids also got to go to an Atlanta Braves game and see the fireworks the night before.

Things I love about this house

It's been a while. We survived the move. We are still unpacking and trying to get settled. We had quite the hassle to get our phone/internet up and running. It's all attributed to labor disputes...that's why we had to wait 10 days to get our phone working even though they said it would be working on the 2nd. Gotta love it. That being said, I do love the house and the space, so I thought I'd give you a quick look at what I like about it the most.

WINDOWS!!!! and lots of them!!!!

A downstairs playroom, where all of the toys ended up and the kids spend most of their time, plus it is really cool down there with 2 ceiling fans
Two separate bedrooms for the kids, a boys and a girls (you can see the 2 doors with a closet in between), which means Clara is out of our room, however, Sophia now has no one to talk to at night, which she informs us of every night

A sewing closet for me!!!! Here you can only see half of it and in my mind I have grand plans to fix it up, but that costs money, which is being pulled in many directions at this time, so it probably won't happen the way I want, if it even happens at all. It really is a big walk in closet with 2 electrical outlets and a light and it's down in the playroom.

A great big back yard, which thus far has been under utilized, but hopefully will get more use in the future as our bodies get used to the mosquitoes here in GA. They must be a different breed, because we all end up with nasty welts when we get bitten.
