Another post about Clara

Yet another post about Clara...the other 3 are going to get jealous. Maybe we'll do something tomorrow that will be post worthy, because Phil has off. I just wanted to share some of my favorites from Clara's little photo shoot with this wonderful and talented person. Check out her blog for more of her work.

My all time favorite

Typical Clara--look of determination on her face and her tongue hanging out

A nice mother/daughter picture whee you can't tell that I'd been up since 5 and really didn't' have time to do anything but shower in the way of getting ready.

Birthday Girl

Here she is, one year old. Phil was on call on her birthday so we had planned on not celebrating until the next day. However, some kind friends, Maura Lee and Cynthia, invited us over for an impromptu birthday party complete with her own little birthday cake. She had fun digging in.

Let's Go!

Can we go outside Mom? This little girl loves all things outdoors. If you even say the word 'outside' she heads for the door and she knows the routine. This is from a couple of weeks ago, when it got cold again and so we still needed a coat.

Pictures like this always remind me that they really do grow up too fast.

Clara is Turning ONE!!!

This Saturday Clara turns one! It's hard to believe that this year has gone by so fast! (That goes for the school year too--today was the last day of school and I had to keep from tearing up as I said good bye to some great teachers. It's kind of hard to leave something good and go to the unknown.)
Anyway. To document the life event of turning one, I had a good and very talented friend, take some pictures of the cute Clara or Little Lou or Lou-Lou as she is called more frequently in our house. Just ignore the pictures with me in them. I had wanted to get dolled up myself and have a few pictures taken with the two of us, but the photo shoot fell on the day Ethan had his surgery (he ended up having a temporary pin put in his right arm to hold the two broken bones apart while they healed. They were healing too close together.), so I was up at 5am and never really went home after that. Which meant no shower, no time to do hair, make up, or iron the shirt I wanted to be wearing. Sara took some pictures anyway and I pretended to believe her when she said I always look good. She's nice that way.

New Addition

Meet Parra, the newest addition to our household. She's a little budgie (as they are called in England) or parakeet if you are so inclined. We got her last Saturday. She was meant to be a distraction for Ethan. He had been saving up his money for one and after breaking both his arms, he needed a distraction so we went ahead and got one. As for the origin of the name, he wants to get another one and call it Keet. Get it? Parra...Keet! Right now everyone asks us if it's name is Spanish. Nope, just an Ethan special. She seems to have adjusted well so far, however, the first 3 days she didn't move or eat. I thought I'd have a dead bird on my hands, but she came through for me.
