Random Things

Here's an update of our lives:
Ethan was baptized
and I feel old. It was a really nice day though and we felt very loved because so many wonderful people came to show their support.
My latest craft endeavor:
A skirt made out of a recycled, felted wool sweater. I was inspired by this lovely designer. The original idea was to take an extra large wool sweater, shrink it down and have it be just the right length to turn into a jumper, but extra large wool sweaters are hard to come by at Salvation Army. I had bought a couple of sweaters anyway and felted them, but that is as far as I got until I wanted the girls to have brown skirts for our family picture. I cut a sweater and made two skirts, which were plain in the family picture, but I have since jazzed up a little with button "flowers" and a blanket stitch around the bottom. Sophia's skirt waist is the waistband of the sweater and Clara's is the two armbands sewn together. I thought they turned out really cute and have one more sweater to chop up and turn into a jumper for Clara.

Guess what we have on our counter...
Rotting teeth--Jakob's science fair project is to see which drink is more corrosive for your teeth. He still wants to be a dentist when he grows up. The results are so far rather surprising. Apple juice is up there with coke and pepsi.
And of course, cute pictures of our smiley girl who is now 8 months old.
She loves her bath and she loves walking around under the table. The chairs are perfect hand holds for cruising. Although, just the other day she got really mad at the table because she did her little hop of delight that she just does when she is happy, which is 90% of the time and she hit the top of her head on the edge of the table. She was mad and I was rather sad, because that means she is growing up too fast.
