I'm opening this blog up a little so hopefully more people can read and comment. Let me know if it works and pass it on.
Jakob's Special Person
Jakob would probably be embarassed about me posting this, but he never reads this and neither does anyone else so I'm just going to put it up here for fun. He had to write an essay for his class on "My Special Person" and he actually chose his dad. The surprise comes from, not thinking he should have picked me, but that he and his dad are so similar that sometimes they really can but heads. It turns out he really likes him after all.
Here is the essay:
Do you have a special person in your life? Maybe your mom or grandma or grandpa? My special person is my dad. My dad likes to get active. He loves sports, and works out almost every time he can! He helps me out so much. When I need a question answered he usually is there to answer it. Some traits he has are that he nearsighted just like me. He is fair tempered and handsome (when he shaves).
He is very kind. He helps people all the time because he's a doctor. He even went to Africa to help get rid of malaria. He has helped me since I was very small and still helps me now.
I thought it was rather sweet of him to think of his dad. Now if I only had a cute picture of them together to post as well. I should dig out the one with Phil laying on the floor studying and Jakob laying right beside him, copying him down to the highlighter in the hand. Jakob was probably 2ish when I took it. I'll have to see if I can find that. I'm thinking now I should save this for Father's Day or something, but it needs to go back tomorrow to go in his writing folder.

What time of day are you?
I just knew I wasn't a morning person and I actually do like this time of day. Enough time to do something before it's time to start the evening routine.
"You are the moment when the last bell rings and school lets out for the day. You are resistant to schedules and obligations, so you love feeling like you're in control of your life again. You are the very moment when the second hand hits the 12, and the halls fill with noise and motion. Even if your after-school time is packed with activities, lessons, or a job, somehow, you just feel freer in the late afternoon than you do earlier in the day. Maybe it's all that blue sky and afternoon sunshine? Nah -- even on rainy days, 3:15 is always a beautiful time."

Oh the fun
Now I have someone who knows what they are doing with this blogging thing helping me, so it should get a little more interesting. Check out the cool map. Just the thing for a geography buff. The wonders of technology. Now I know if someone is actually looking....
